For council purposes, the parish is divided into three wards (Ticehurst, Flimwell and Stonegate) which are represented by seven, three and three councillors respectively. Elections are held every four years and in the intervening period, by-elections take place if replacements are needed. There are some 2900 voting residents in the three villages. The Council meets on the first Tuesday of each month, except August, at 7.30pm in Ticehurst Village Hall. The first half hour of the session is given over to the public to raise any matters of concern. Visitors are welcome to remain for the remainder of the meeting but are not permitted to contribute to discussions. The Parish Council publishes a quarterly newsletter in News and Views, produces a local business plan and holds a public meeting, the Annual Assembly, which all members of the Parish are invited to attend to find out more about what is going on in the Parish. Minutes of the meetings for the past 12 months can be found here once approved at the subsequent meeting. The Council works for the benefit of the whole parish. If you have anything you would like to discuss with the Parish Council, please contact the Parish Clerk, Francesca Nowne. She is available each week at The Annexe, High Street, Ticehurst, on Tuesdays 9.30am to 11.30am and Thursday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm or contacted by telephone 01580 754090 or email.
